Managing Child Areas

areas can have child areas. This allows for multiple areas to share production goals. For example, a value stream line may have many different areas (Final assembly, machining, etc.) yet all of these areas share the same goal, to produce a certain amount of torque converters. Instead of recreating the same goal for each area, an area may share its goal with its child areas.

Note: An area must already be created in order for it to be added as a child area

Adding a child area

To add a child area, navigate to the parent area’s management page and click the Child Areas item in the left navigation menu

Select the area you wish to add as a child area and click the “Add Child Area” button. The area will be added as a child area.

Note: Areas may only be added as child areas if they are not already a child area to another area
